Nutrition

Our bodies require many different nutrients to function at an optimal level.  And, optimal health is what you want.  Sure, our bodies will still function on the processed, “witch's brew” of food stuff in the modern diet, but its like running your vehicle on unfiltered vegetable oil rather than high quality bio-fuel.

First, let us discuss vitamins.  There are fat soluble vitamins like vitamins A, D, E, and K.  The body will store these vitamins in fat tissue, for example, if you were to absorb 7,000IU’s of vitamin A, your body will use what it needs and store the remainder in fat cells.  The liver also stores certain vitamins, even small amounts B12 which is water soluble.  Water soluble vitamins like vitamin C and the B-complex vitamins are flushed out in the urine, this is why you should supplement with a large amount of these, your body is constantly flushing out what it does not need at that particular moment.

Minerals are the building blocks of the body.  When people think of minerals, they usually think of calcium for the bones.  Every cell it the body uses minerals like calcium, which is also used for muscle contraction, and magnesium which is a key mineral in the structure of bone, and is also used in muscle relaxation.  Mineral content also affects PH.  For example, phosphorous and sulphur are acidic, and calcium and magnesium are alkaline.  Too much phosphorous can inhibit calcium absorption.  A slightly alkaline PH can inhibit the growth of viruses, cancer, bacteria, yeast, fungus, etc.
